Decision No. 55/2011 of the Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, taking effect on 30 December 2011, completed the scope of action of the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development as the Intermediate Body under the Managing Authority for OP Competitiveness and Economic Growth and Sector Operational Program Industry and Services.
Effective from 30 December 2011 following activities have been transferred:
a) the performance of activities relating to implementation of Measures L 2 - Support of common services for entrepreneurs and Sub measures 1.1.3 - Support of participation of Slovak producers in trade fairs, exhibitions and trade missions in the scope of OP Competitiveness and Economic Growth,
b) the performance of activities relating to implementation of Sub-Measure 1.2 - Support of construction and reconstruction of infrastructure - part - construction of industrial parks and reconstruction of production halls and Measures 1.5 - Development of foreign cooperation and image of the SR through aid schemes of international cooperation (state aid scheme) and support schemes of international cooperation (scheme de minimis under the Sector Operational Program Industry and Services),
to the scope of activities of the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency.
The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred only as "ME SR"), as the Managing Authority (hereinafter referred to as "MA") in the 2004 – 2006 programming period for the Sectoral Operational Programme Industry and Services (hereinafter: SOP I&S), and also in the new 2007 – 2013 programming period for the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Economic Growth (hereinafter: C&EG), provides activities related to the implementation of EU Structural Funds through implementation agencies (so called "Intermediate Bodies under the Managing Authority"-hereinafter: "IB/MA") in the sphere of action of the ME&C SR.
The SARIO agency, based on its experience in implementing pre-accession EU funds and with their material orientation follows the measures in the new programming period of OP C&EG.
The beneficiary submits applications for payment to SARIO, including the accounting documents and list of expenses, and then SARIO assesses the legitimacy of beneficiary‘s expenses on its level, sends them to the Managing Authority and to the payment unit, and SARIO is also involved in the monitoring, evaluation and control of the implementation directly at beneficiaries.
As part of the new 2007 – 2013 programming period and OP C&EG, the SARIO agency implements measures focused on supporting the participation of Slovak producers on trade fairs, exhibitions, business missions within a separate aid scheme focused on the private sector. The measure focused on the public sector applies to revitalisation of parks in the form of brown-field, or to construction of green-field parks.
