Almost 600 visitors descended upon the II. Slovak Matchmaking Fair
564 visitors arrived to the II. Matchmaking Fair in Banská Bystrica, of which 360 were from Slovakia and 204 came from abroad. 240 companies were looking for cooperation partners, of which 74 were exhibitors. Of all the companies present, there were 116 Slovakian and 82 foreign companies. The companies and representatives came not only from neighbourhoods, but also from exotic countries, e.g. Indonesia, India, Israel, Palestine, Macedonia or Turkey. A mixture of individual entrepreneurs and company-sent representatives came from such faraway countries as Serbia, Italy, China, Latvia, Russia, Bulgaria, Germany, England, Croatia and others. The majority of companies comprised of the engineering, electrical, metallurgy, plastic material and IT industries.
In the II. Matchmaking Fair representatives of companies Hansol LCD Slovakia and SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS LCD Slovakia have met with representatives of other Slovakian firms in order to discuss possible subcontracting opportunities for the Korean investor SAMSUNG.
The 20-member Chinese delegation discussed such opportunities with representatives of 15 Slovakian firms and institutions, who had shown interest in this cooperation. The conference, organized by the Chinese business advisor based in Slovakia, Weixin LI, as a part of the fair, was also an opportunity to present Slovakian-Chinese business relationships. Certain other meetings were also organized with representatives of Turkish entrepreneurs in Slovakia, assembled by the Slovakian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce.
Throughout the expertise conference, which was an important part of the fair, some countries introduced their opportunities for business and imports. Zaher Jaan Maarij, a representative of Afganistan´s experts, introduced some opportunities for economic cooperation with Afganistan, countries of the Persian Bay, and especially with Iran. The entrepreneurs in the discussion showed interests in the opportunities of cooperation in the infrastructure renovation of Afganistan and, additionally in penetration opportunities into Iran´s market.
The II. Matchmaking Fair lasted for two days, from 23rd till 24th September 2008. This second year of the fair was visited by souble the number of exhibitors and visitors than the previous year. Last year, the fair was organized in Trenčín. This year, Agency SARIO organised the II. Matchmaking Fair for Slovakian entrepreneurs in order to offer free production possibilities and services for potential business partners. The Fair was organized with the support of the Self-governing region of Banská Bystrica, the City of Banská Bystrica and The Regional chamber of Banská Bystrica of Slovak Chamber of Commerce.

This special subcontracting fair is organized by SARIO with the support of the Self-governing region Banská Bystrica, the City of Banská Bystrica and the Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The Slovak Matchmaking Fair hosted by SARIO is a great opportunity for you to find Slovak business partners for cooperation in the following sectors: mechanical engineering, electronics, textile, wood-processing, agriculture, IT, environmental technology, green power industry and recycling.
Participation on the Second Slovak Matchmaking Fair 2008 is for you - as a foreign visitor - free of charge!
All attending exhibitors are Slovak companies which will be offering their unused production capacities and are interested in finding a foreign partner for cooperation, joint ventures and subcontracting. The MISSION of this event is to find for you a suitable cooperation partner from selected industrial sectors in Slovakia.
The Second Slovak Matchmaking Fair will be accompanied by the Conference. Invited speakers will cover topics about the Slovak business environment. Business leaders will get a chance to introduce their companies and their requirements.
A casual evening meeting starting at 7.30 p.m on September 23th is also part of the event.

SARIO decided to organize the Second Matchmaking Fair due to very positive feedback from the First Matchmaking Fair in 2007, held in Trenčín. Last year there were 48 overseas companies attending and 85 Slovak companies, all together 350 visitors, 250 from Slovakia. 33 Slovak expositors - manufacturing companies found new contacts from potential partners from abroad.
