Business Meets research Forum, Luxembourg

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency in cooperation with the representative office of the Slovak Republic in Belgium and the OBEO of the Ministry of Economy of the SR in Brussels organized the participation of the representatives of Slovak universities and research institutions at Business Meets research Forum, Luxembourg.
Education, research, innovations and new technologies contribute to the economic growth, new jobs creation and from the long time perspective they become the key factor that influences competitiveness of the country - this would be a condensed characteristics of the main idea of the 3rd year of the event prepared by the Luxinnovation - National Agency for Innovation and Research in the conference center of the Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg. Mr. Marco Walentiny, the Director of the Research and Development Section of the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg had opened the forum, welcomed the Slovak delegation and invited the participants to Slovak booth.
The event had been accompanied by workshops where the researches and businessmen exchanged the latest information on research and development in the fields as: ICT, eco-technologies, biotechnologies, new materials research, space research or renewable resources. The aim of the forum was to support the development of the international cooperation in research and development and to seek the possibilities of joining common projects with the possible use of the EU structural funds.
The cooperation meetings of Slovak participants with Luxembourg research and scientific institutions took place according a plan in the networking center of the Slovak booth in parallel to the whole event. The representative of SARIO, Ms. Maria Mikusova offered information on current economic situation of Slovakia, possibilities of research and development cooperation as well as options to receive stimuli for research and development and support of SARIO agency in these fields.
