CEE Benefits & Motivation Survey

CPL JOBS conducted CEE Benefits & Motivation Survey where they asked passive and active candidates living in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary; from all rungs of the career ladder, a series of questions around benefits. Over 5000 individuals took part. The survey  gained a deeper insight into what employees look for from an employer and may offer insights on how to capture the attention of the candidates they need, enhance employee happiness and compare current benefit structures with real candidate expectations.

Candidates in Slovakia typically consider the ‘whole package’ including: salary, benefits, employer brand, references, job description etc. They leave current workplace when they feel they don’t have further opportunities for career growth or when they feel they are not being appreciated for the work they are doing. While salary level is still a very important factor in a candidate’s decision to leave their current employer, in recent times however we have seen an increased interest in certain Benefits over salary increases.

When high unemployment prevails in their home regions, candidates are more willing to relocate. In Eastern Slovakia greater levels of flexibility exist, often individuals relocate to Bratislava or even other countries. Candidates based in Bratislava or Western Slovakia are less open to relocation. The most popular benefits being offered by employers to candidates in the Slovakia region include 13th month salary, flexible working hours and opportunities to work from a home office, additional vacation days, paid sick days and annual bonus.
