Connecting R&D with practice and production

Slovak University of Technology (STU) in cooperation with the Slovak Investment and Trade Development  Agency (SARIO) organized on June 27, 2014 a seminar Horizon 2020 - the possibilities of cooperation between the academic and business sectors, presenting the program EU Horizon 2020 to science and business public.

Program EU Horizon 2020 aims to support innovative activities and closer collaboration between academia and business public.
The aim of the seminar was to provide companies and public more information on cooperation opportunities offered by the EU Program Horizon 2020. This seminar should be the first in line and begin the process of connecting research and science with practice and start converting the excellent scientific projects to modern innovations and new products.

The event was opened by Robert Redhammer, the Rector of the STU  and Dušan Chrenek, the Head of the European Commission Representation in Slovakia. For the business community are interested in the performance of Horizon 2020, which took care of Maria Búciová, National Contact Point from the STU and the presentation of the Tool for small and medium-sized enterprises by Viera Petrasova, the National Contact Point from the CVTI. Daniel Straka from the Liaison Office for Research and Development in Brussels made ​​clear to participants what assistance was offered by his office to anyone interested in the EU Program Horizon 2020. Finally, there were cooperation bids of companies and research teams presented to the participants in order to cooperate and join in Horizon 2020 projects.
