On Thursday, May 14th 2015 the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) participated on the sixth Innovation and Technology forum Slovakia – Turkey in Istanbul during the official visit of Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic to Turkey.The event took place at the premises of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEiK). The delegation was welcomed by Akay Gokce, the Chairman of Slovak – Turkish Economic Board and Omer Vardan, the President of DEiK. Welcome note was also delivered by H.E. Jozef Šesták, the Consul General of the SR in Istanbul followed by Robert Fico, Prime Minister of the SR who opened the VI. Innovation and Technology forum Slovakia – Turkey. The program continued by presentations about Turkish innovation potential by Ahmet Aksan, CEO of industrial area in Gebze and about the Slovak business environment with focus on innovation development by Juraj Mihal, Consultant of Investment Projects Department of SARIO.The representatives of 16 most technologically advanced Slovak companies then had an opportunity to meet with their Turkish counterparts during following B2B meetings.Furthermore, the cooperation between Istanbul Bilgi University and Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava was established by signing the Memorandum of Cooperation by rectors of both universities. On this occasion, Robert Fico also opened the Slovak – Turkish Permanent Forum for Science, Innovation and Trade in Bilgi University.
