International Procurement Seminar

On March 20 and 21, 2024, the second consecutive International Procurement Seminar was held in Vienna, which informed Slovak, Czech and Hungarian companies about the possibilities of participating in tenders of individual agencies and organizations within the UN.

The seminar was organized by the SARIO agency in cooperation with the Slovak Embassy in Vienna, the Czech Embassy in Vienna and the Hungarian Embassy in Vienna and the Czech Trade agency. The program consisted of presentations and discussion panels and offered companies practical tips on how to establish business cooperation with the UN. The event took place simultaneously online and was attended by a total of 120 companies from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary and 60 representatives from 15 UN agencies from Geneva, Copenhagen, Rome, New York, Budapest and Vienna.

The companies had 240 negotiations, during which they had the opportunity to present their products and services, e.g. representatives of UNICEF, the World Health Organization WHO, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the OSCE or the World Food Program WFP. Slovakia was represented by more than 30 companies from different sectors. The event was evaluated positively from an organizational and content point of view, as companies gained valuable information on how to proceed and succeed in UN tenders. SARIO was represented by Marek Pocklan from the Foreign Trade Department who also had a presentation concerning the services and activities of the agency.
