The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in cooperation with the Embassy of the SR in Kazakhstan and with the company Invest-Consult organized the business mission to Kazakhstan which took place in Almaty on March 15 – 19, 2015.The mission focused on the area of construction, infrastructure and energy sectors. These sectors with others are among the priorities in the Strategic Development Plan of Kazakhstan adopted in 2010. They create space for Slovak companies for example in the supply of technological equipment for projects related to the development and modernization of infrastructure (railroads, power distribution networks, transport communications) and the construction of small hydro and thermal power plants.The entrepreneurs had a unique opportunity to visit certain strategic projects and then discuss them with local partners. The greatest demand from the Kazakh side was focused on innovative methods of construction, modernization of industry and logistics.The business forum was organized during the mission and it was attended by 12 Slovak companies and 40 Kazakh companies. After the forum, the Slovak entrepreneurs participated in a round table where they were invited by Slovaks working in Kazakhstan who discussed with participants teir practical first-hand experience of doing business in this country.
