Considering the region of Central and Eastern Europe, Žilina became for two days the centre of the automotive industry. Historically the first CEE Automotive Supply Chain 2017 event in Slovakia took place on 14-15.11.2017. The conference was organised under the auspices of the Automotive Industry Association of the SR (ZAP) and five additional co-organizers – British Chamber of Commerce, French-Slovak Chamber of Commerce, KOTRA, German-Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry and SARIO.

More than 380 participants from 12 countries, two hundreds of bilateral meetings and many other informal meetings are just some of the results of this event. The conference was opened by the highest representatives of the co-organizers. SARIO was represented by the general director Mr. Robert Šimončič. Key topics of the event can be summarised as possibilities of joining the automotive supply chain and application of trends such automation into production processes. The representatives of the Slovak car producers were participating too - one of the highlights of KIA, Peugeot Citroën and Volkswagen presentations was announcement that e-mobility will ultimately arrive also to the Slovak production sites. SARIO was represented by a stand, at which consultants promoted services of the agency, such as assistance with the investment projects, export support  or internationalisation of the small and medium enterprises established in SR, which is a new program operated under the National project co-financed by the EU funds.

CEE Automotive Supply Chain 2017 provided participants with valuable information about possibilities of becoming part of the supply chains in the automotive industry. At the same time the event served as a platform for networking through the B2B meetings.
