Prime Minister appreciated SARIO´s activity boost
Bratislava, 20.05.2013The Prime Minister of the SR Robert Fico attended inspection day at the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO). The governmental delegation also included Miroslav Lajčák, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Tomáš Malatinský, the Minister of Economy of the SR. At the meeting the Agency's management presented the achievements and contribution of agency to the economy of the SR, current strategy and direction of SARIO for 2013.

Investment seminar in Belgium
Bratislava, 28.04.2013On April 23, 2013 investment seminar "Invest in Slovakia" aimed to promote further development of economic and trade relations between the Slovakia and Belgium took place on the premises of the Embassy of the SR in Brussels, Belgium. The event was organized by the Slovak embassy in Brussels in collaboration with Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) and Belgian legal and consulting company E-S Partners. The seminar presented Slovakia as an attractive country for investment and trade cooperation and was attended by over 30 Belgian businessmen.

Presentation of Slovakia at the V4 conference "Safely in times of crisis"
Bratislava, 19.04.2013On April 12, 2013 the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) actively participated on the "Safely in times of crisis" conference, held in Nicosia, Cyprus. The conference was organized on behalf of Poland, currently the presidency country of the Visegrad (V4), by the Embassy of Poland in Nicosia. The aim was to attract the attention of Cypriot companies to investment opportunities in the V4 region. In the opening panel, investment environments of all V4 countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia) were introduced. The event was attended by about 80 representatives of Cypriot companies and associations.
The 1st session of the Intergovernmental Slovak-Vietnamese Commission for Economic Cooperation in Hanoi, Vietnam
Bratislava, 17.04.2013Slovak Trade and Investment Development Agency (SARIO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy of the SR and Slovak embassy in Hanoi organized the 1st session of the Intergovernmental Slovak-Vietnamese Commission for Economic Cooperation in Hanoi, Vietnam and on the occasion also the Business Forum focused on Slovak export support. Do business in the countries of southern Caucasus
SARIO, 15.04.2013In the period from April 7 – 12, 2013 Pavol Čobirka, SARIO Project SARIO, represented the SR on a business trip in the southern Caucasus. Business mission, meetings and negotiations with government representatives and partner organization took place in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in order to open doors for Slovak companies in this territory.

Bratislava, 06.03.2013The 16th session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between the Slovak Republic and the Russian Federation took place in Moscow on March 4 and 5, 2013. Official 20 members delegation was led by Miroslav Lajcak, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Committee and co-chair of the commission. Co-chair of the commission for the Russian party is Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

SARIO: Foreign offices mean competitive advantage
Bratislava, 11.12.2012Tomáš Malatinský, the Minister of Economy of the SR opened the first foreign representative office of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) on December 10, 2012 in Jakarta. The official opening ceremony was part of a working visit to the Republic of Indonesia, and as well it is one of the first steps in implementing a new strategy of foreign trade to support export of Slovak companies.

Introduction of SARIO Assigned Chief Executive Officer at the AmCham Business breakfast
Bratislava, 30.06.2010The introduction of the boss of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) Robert Simoncic took place at the presence of the President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Michael Smyth, the Executive Director of AmCham Jake Slegers and other members of the Chamber. This event was connected with the discussion on the topic: “How can Slovakia Boost its Investment Opportunities?” According to Mr Simoncic, SARIO first of all needs to define its clear position and competencies based on which it will be able to create its new strategy. In this context he also mentioned the importance of clarification and simplification of processes, for example in receiving state aid, and he also stressed the need of continuous improvement of the business environment. “Slovakia currently needs new jobs therefore their creation has to be in the focus of all our efforts“, said Rober Simoncic. The decisive factor in process of investment attraction is not the salary level but rather geographical location and the infrastructure development. „The key factor should not be the localization of the investment but rather the quality of conditions that the individual regions might offer“, said Mr. Simoncic and he added that the precondition of the success is the effective communication with the regional administration and municipalities. He also said that in his opinion the role of specialization and sector targeting, especially R&D or high value added sectors would continually grow. While attracting foreign investors it is necessary to think about domestic investors as well, since they play an important part in the development of local capital. As for the aim of FDI attraction, SARIO plans to focus as well on the needs of established investors as well. Besides the new FDI influx, SARIO aims in its strategy to focus on satisfying the needs of established investors. Since for the Slovak economy are important not only the investors that came through SARIO, but all investors; the next task of the agency will be to map all implemented investment projects in Slovakia: “It is necessary in order to flexibly react to the current investors needs and help them in their possible expansion,“ said Robert Simoncic. To achieve these new goals and finish all tasks, SARIO will need strong and responsible partners as chambers of commerce, universities, self-governing regions, municipalities, clusters etc., which will provide necessary feedback.
Slovak – Dutch cooperation in the aviation industry
Trenčín, 30.06.2010Business mission of the representatives of Dutch aviation industry with the active participation of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency took place on the premises of the company Letecke opravovne Trencin, a.s., (LOTN). The representatives of aviation association NAG from Holland and the representatives of its member companies met with SARIO representatives, top management of LOTN, the representatives of Trencin City, Trencin Self-governing Region, University of Alexander Dubcek in Trencin and Slovak business subjects. The bilateral negotiations of Slovak and Dutch companies and organizations followed in program after the presentations of all subjects. These negotiations should mark the beginning of future cooperation in aviation industry between Slovakia and Holland.
