Business mission to Kharkiv

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) organized on September, 24-26 in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Kiev, the Administration of the City of Kharkiv and the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Kharkiv, business mission to Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The aim of the business mission was to deepen business and personal relations between representatives of the Slovak business sector and Ukrainian partners who are open to intensify cooperation with companies available on the European Union market. On the Slovak side, 9 companies participated in B2B negotiations with their Ukrainian counterparts. In the business forum held at the Metallist Sports Complex, up to 39 business meetings took place.

The Forum, which was opened by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic L. Parízek, was devoted not only to the development of business relations but also to the cooperation in the field of IT, science and research, tourism and „smart city” solutions. The result was an exchange of contacts and an agreement for future closer cooperation and subsequently the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Kharkiv and the Regional Office of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Banská Bystrica. The Ukrainian side expressed interest, willingness and availability to help in case of need and requirements from the Slovak side. The Slovak side expressed its openness and effort to maintain a positive trend or increase trade exchange based on the expansion of Slovak and Ukrainian companies.

An important part of the program was a visit of the FED plant, which focuses on the production of aggregates and spare parts in the aerospace industry. The director of the company FED is also the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Kharkiv. Most of the participants expressed their readiness and coordination to participate in a possible future mission in this part of the region.
