Business Mission from Sri Lanka

Tomáš Malatinský, the Minister of Economy of the SR opened the Economic Forum organized by the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) on the occasion of the visit of the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Sri Lanka Rishad Bathiudeen . The event was an opportunity to establish new business contacts, mutual trade and economic cooperation with potential partners from Sri Lanka and become familiar with the investment environment in both countries .

 

Minister Malatinský explained entrepreneurs that Sri Lanka has been historically one of the countries where production of the former Czechoslovakia was abundantly represented and Slovakia is trying to bind to these traditions of mutual economic cooperation and jointly explore options for its development at present.

 

"Taking into account the economic potential of the country, we continue in providing the mechanisms of incentives for investors to focus on projects generating the production with higher added value.  It is cooperation in these areas we are interested to share with our friends from Sri Lanka,”noted Minister Malatinský.

 

The visit of the Minister of Commerce and a 15-members business delegation was held on the initiative of the Sri Lankan side to support Slovak - Sri Lankan relations with an emphasis on better use of existing potential, including direct contacts between entrepreneurs, and therefore the B2B forum was held B2B for representatives of companies from both countries.

 

Slovak companies found Sri Lankan partners during the negotiations, while firm Geoconsult has found room for negotiations directly with the Minister of Industry and Trade .
