The 1st session of the Intergovernmental Slovak-Vietnamese Commission for Economic Cooperation in Hanoi, Vietnam

Slovak Trade and Investment Development Agency (SARIO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy of the SR and Slovak embassy in Hanoi organized the 1st session of the Intergovernmental Slovak-Vietnamese Commission for Economic Cooperation in Hanoi, Vietnam and on the occasion also the Business Forum focused on Slovak export support. Slovak delegation was led by Pavol Pavlis, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the SR.

 

17 Slovak and 25 Vietnamese companies participated in the business mission, included were mainly companies doing busiess in: agriculture, mining, energy, arms, engineering and construction industries. Among others list of Slovak companies included: BEZ transformátory, Púchovský mäsokombinát, Letecké opravovne, Kerametal, Grandpower, SES Tlmače, Celox, Hornonitrianske bane, Geodetica, Sevotech, Novplasta, Konštrukta Industry, QEXand others.

 

During the opening of the Business Forum SARIO the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency signed tme Memorandum of Understanding, and tme Slovak Institute of Informatics and Vietnamese Institute of Information Technology signed memorandum signed as well.

 

During the trip our delegation visited several Vietnamese governmental institutions and they discussed cooperation in various fields, for example, the share of Slovak companies participating in construction nuclear power plants in Vietnam. Vietnam is interested in our know-how in the energy sector, especially in the nuclear energy and the possibility of training of professionals in this field by our experts was disscussed during meetings.

 

One of tme negotiations topics was the cooperation of our financial institutions, in particular the operation of our Eximbank Slovensko in Vietnamese projects and the potential for collaboration of Vietnamese central bank with the Slovak NBS, mainly the transfer of the know how with the Euro introduction. Also the possibilities of Vietnamese financial institutions accessing our market were discussed during meetings.

 

Slovak companies BEZ transformátory a Púchovský mäsokombinát participated in the EXPO 2013, which was visited by Slovak delegation and at first hand they witnessed large interest of Vietnamese visitors in Slovak products.
