Business Forum in Rome

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) cooperated with the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Embassy in Rome in the preparation of the business delegation during the official visit of President Zuzana Čaputová to Rome. The official visit took place on 20th and 21st April 2022 with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations, inter alia, in the context of renewable energy sources, the innovation potential of both economies, and mutual trade.

On the first day, the participants of the business mission visited the research center of the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development - ENEA Casaccia. It currently employs around 1,000 staff, focusing on energy efficiency, renewables, nuclear fission, environment and climate, safety and health, new technologies, new materials, sustainable development, agri-innovation, and systems electricity research.

Subsequently, the mission program continued on the premises of the Slovak Embassy in Rome with presentations delivered by the Italian company Enel Green Power, which carries out agenda related to renewable energy production within the Enel Group, and the Gestione Servezi Energetici (GSE) agency responsible for promoting and supporting renewable energy development and energy efficiency. The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) and InoBat presented their activities on the Slovak side.
The second day of the business mission was dominated by the business forum, which was preceded by a short meeting of the President of the Slovak Republic Z. Čaputová with the members of the business delegation.

The forum took place in the representative premises of the Generali insurance company in Piazza Venezia, and during the opening, in addition to the President of the Slovak Republic, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development, Mr. Pichett Fratin, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Manlio Di Stefano and State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic Ján Oravec delivered their speech. Before the start of individual B2B negotiations, Simona Jurkovičová, a senior consultant of the investment projects SARIO department, presented the business and investment environment of the Slovak Republic to Slovak and Italian entrepreneurs. Individual B2B negotiations contributed to the support of more than 50 Slovak and Italian companies for establishing not only business but also innovation cooperation.

At the end of the program, the business delegation visited the Startup Center of the University of Luiss. LUISS University in Rome in cooperation with LVenture Group covers the so-called startup factory - "LUISS EnLabs", which is one of the leading startup accelerators in Europe.
