GlobalTags News Business mission Foreign trade Taliansko The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Rome, and Slovakia Travel, organised a business mission to Italy on 20–21 January 2026 on the occasion of the official visit of the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Richard Raši.The Slovak delegation consisted of 39 participants representing 30 entities across the sectors of construction, energy and water management, ICT, finance, and tourism.The working programme of the mission commenced with the Slovak–Italian Business Forum “Discover Slovakia – New Partnership Opportunities; Green Building Industry & Sustainable Tourism”, which was officially opened by Róbert Puci, Chairman of the Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for Economic Affairs.Following the opening addresses, the forum continued with a panel discussion focusing on the challenges and opportunities of green construction in both Italy and Slovakia.The first part of the forum concluded with a speech by the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Richard Raši, who emphasised that Italy is regarded as a strategic partner with strong historical ties, active bilateral relations, and closely aligned positions in many areas. He underlined the ambition to further strengthen cooperation particularly in the fields of trade, energy, and security.After the ceremonial signing of the founding charter of the Association for the Support of Slovak Entrepreneurs in Italy, approximately 60 bilateral B2B meetings took place between Slovak and Italian partners. These meetings focused on discussing concrete cooperation opportunities, identifying shared interests, and establishing new business partnerships.The programme continued on the second day with expert presentations of construction projects applying sustainability strategies and international certification systems, followed by a guided tour of the Six Senses Rome hotel, which underwent an environmentally sustainable reconstruction, highlighting best practices in the sustainable renovation of historical buildings and environmental protection.The business mission to Rome strengthened dialogue between Slovak and Italian companies and institutions in the field of sustainable construction and green building solutions. Participants gained valuable contacts, new business opportunities, and insights into potential cooperation in strategic markets related to construction and sustainable technologies.SARIO played an active role in the comprehensive preparation of the business mission, including the recruitment of Slovak companies, programme development, identification of suitable partners, organisation of bilateral B2B meetings, and expert site visits, thereby making a significant contribution to the promotion of practical business cooperation.
