Business mission in Ivano-Frankivsk opened new business opportunities for Slovak companies in Ukraine

Following the business mission to Lviv in March, SARIO organized another business mission to Ukraine, this time to the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, which took place from 30 June to 2 July 2026. The mission was co-organized by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for the Recovery Plan and the Knowledge Economy (ODPMO SR), with the objective of fostering business cooperation between Slovak and Ukrainian companies.

The business delegation comprised ten Slovak companies representing the information and communication technologies (ICT), energy and renewable energy, electrical engineering, construction, transport, and logistics sectors. On the Ukrainian side, nearly thirty companies from corresponding industries participated.

The local partner responsible for organizing the mission was the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. The Ukrainian-Slovak Business Forum was officially opened by the Governor of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region, Svitlana Onyshchuk, together with Juraj Toporčák, Director of the Ukraine Recovery Department at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic.

The forum programme continued with presentations highlighting the economic potential of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, delivered by Serhii Podoshva, Director of the Department of Economic Development, Industry and Infrastructure. Investment opportunities in Ukraine were presented by Viktoriia Volovenko, Head of the Analytical Department at UkraineInvest. Marko Podstavek, Consultant at SARIO's Foreign Trade Department, introduced the investment opportunities and business potential of the Slovak Republic.

The subsequent programme of the forum provided participants with the opportunity to hold individual business-to-business (B2B) meetings between the attending Slovak and Ukrainian companies. The business agenda also included a visit to the local electrical engineering company ElektroSvit, one of the region's leading manufacturers of power distribution and energy management equipment.

SARIO was responsible for the registration and participation of the Slovak companies in the business mission, coordinated the programme and the recruitment of Ukrainian companies in cooperation with local partners, presented Slovakia's business and investment potential, and accompanied the participating companies during the visit to the local company.

Cooperation between Slovakia and Ukraine, as well as bilateral trade between the two countries, continues to strengthen. We therefore regard business missions as an effective instrument for supporting the further development of mutual economic and commercial cooperation.
