Business mission to Poland

Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Warsaw organized a business mission to Poland, the city of Gdansk and Gdynia in days 28th - 30th October, 2019.

The sectoral focus of the mission was primarily on logistic companies. The aim of the mission was to enable Slovak companies to present their business activities and to establish new business contacts directly with Gdynia ports in Poland.
 
Five Slovak companies from the field of spedition, logistics and legal services and ten companies represented Polish ports and terminals participated and had 40 B2B meetings within the business forum. 
 
The event was opened by the speech of Maciej Bąk, Vice-Chairman of the Gdynia Sea Port Management Board and Zuzana Ščepánová, Slovak Counselor for Economic Affairs in Warsaw, followed by the speech of Rafał Machowiak, KIGM Secretary-General.
 
The program continued with a presentation on the current status and planned investments of Gdynia Port, panel discussion focused on Brexit,  geography and economic issues, sea connection to Scandinavia, trends and problems in maritime and land transport through the port of Gdynia in connection to Slovakia. The part of discussion was also the possibility of cooperation between countries outside the United Kingdom and Scandinavia.
 
The representative of SARIO, Dominika Porubská presented SARIO services, status and possibilities of economic cooperation in Slovakia, summarized basic economic indicators of the Slovak Republic and evaluated bilateral economic relations between Slovakia and Poland.
 
The business mission conference ended with a tour in the Gdynia seaport.
