Business mission to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Office of the Government of the SR, the Ministry of Economy of the SR, and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the SR, organized a business mission to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The mission took place on the occasion of the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, to both countries from June 8 to 11, 2025.

The delegation included nearly 30 Slovak companies and institutions representing sectors such as energy, engineering, information and communication technologies, defence, agriculture, food industry, water management, and others. Participants took part in two business forums held in both countries, with several companies already engaged in trade or investment activities in these markets. A key outcome of the mission was the signing of 9 memoranda of cooperation between Slovak and Uzbek partners during the bilateral event in Uzbekistan and 2 memoranda of cooperation within the framework of a business forum in Kazakhstan.

As part of the program in Uzbekistan, the UZBEKISTAN-SLOVAKIA Business Forum was held and officially opened by SARIO’s Director General, Mr. Robert Šimončič, together with Mr. Sherzod Gulamov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan. The forum began with opening remarks by the Prime Ministers of both countries, followed by B2B meetings. In total, 140 business-to-business meetings were conducted between Slovak participants and 60 Uzbek companies. The program continued with a visit to the TEXNOPARK industrial and technology park and the CAEX exhibition held as part of the "Tashkent International Investment Forum 2025."

The highlight of the mission in Kazakhstan was the Kazakh-Slovak Business Forum, which was launched by SARIO’s Director General Robeet Šimončič alongside Mr. Alibek Kuantyrov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. The forum brought together 40 local companies, and 80 individual business meetings were held between entrepreneurs from both countries.
