Business Opportunities in Latvia for Slovak Companies

On 10 April 2026, SARIO, together with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Riga, organised a webinar on business opportunities in Latvia. The webinar aimed to introduce the specifics of the Latvian market to the Slovak business community and highlight new opportunities for strengthening bilateral trade relations.

The webinar was opened by Daniel Ondruš, Director of the Foreign Trade Department at SARIO, together with H.E. Ingrīda Levrence, Ambassador of Latvia to Austria.

The programme continued with a presentation by Slavomír Nagy, Economic Diplomat at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Riga, who introduced the tools of economic diplomacy and the forms of support available to Slovak companies. During presentation he also focused on the food industry and outlined upcoming activities, including participation in major Latvian trade fairs through national stands. 

This was followed by a presentation from Inga Ulmane, representative of LIAA based in Vienna. Participants received a comprehensive overview of Latvia’s economic and business environment, the current state of bilateral cooperation, and promising sectors. The presentation also covered the country’s energy sector and energy mix, and highlighted upcoming events that may be of interest to Slovak companies.

In the Q&A session, speakers answered questions submitted in the registration form as well as those asked during the webinar.
