GlobalTags News Foreign trade Webinar Afrika The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Nairobi organized a free webinar for Slovak companies titled Entering the East African Market: Business Opportunities and Key Insights for Entrepreneurs, which took place on 30 September 2025.The aim of the webinar was to provide practical information and recommendations to Slovak companies considering expansion into East African countries – Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania - a region that ranks among the fastest-growing economies on the continent and offers a wide range of opportunities in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, healthcare, and digitalization.Opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Maroš Mitrík, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Nairobi; Samuel Čellár, Economic Diplomat; Matúš Šársky, Director of the International Relations Department at EXIMBANKA SR, presented financial support tools available for Slovak exporters in Africa.The program continued with thematic blocks dedicated to individual countries in the region:KENYAValerie Rugene from the Embassy of Kenya in Vienna, João Ramos from EuroCham Kenya, and James Mureu from the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) introduced current opportunities on the Kenyan market and key recommendations for establishing partnerships.RWANDADivine Nakanyange from the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Johanna Sandberg from the European Business Chamber of Rwanda (EBCR) presented reasons why Rwanda is considered one of the most accessible destinations for foreign investors in Africa.UGANDACollins Agaba from the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) and Rita Mugula from Investment Promotion and Business Development explained the specifics of the Ugandan market and sectors where Slovak companies can find demand for their products and services.After each thematic block a discussion was held during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions directly to representatives of institutions from the respective countries.You can watch the webinar recording here.
