GlobalTags News Foreign trade Montenegro The Second Session of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between Slovakia and Montenegro, held in Podgorica on October 30, 2024, included the first Montenegro-Slovakia business forum organized during the commission’s session. The forum, organized by the SARIO agency in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Podgorica and Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro.Seven Slovak companies specializing in energy, wastewater management, and engineering participated in dozens of B2B meetings, exploring opportunities for long-term collaboration. These sectors hold substantial potential for mutual economic cooperation. Eleven Montenegrin companies aligned their focus with the interests of the Slovak companies, and the bilateral meetings provided a valuable opportunity to discover new avenues for expanding trade relations.The cooperation between SARIO and the Slovak Embassy in Podgorica initially created new networking opportunities in May of the previous year, when a business mission was organized for Slovak companies focused on the food and HORECA sectors. Prior to the business forum, the Slovak delegation was welcomed by Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management, Vladimir Joković, who praised Slovakia’s keen interest in strengthening ties with Montenegro—a country dedicated to its goal of joining the European Union by 2028.
