The Global Microelectronics Ecosystem Met at SEMICON Taiwan 2025

Semiconductors are the key to a smart future – and Taiwan is their global hub. At SEMICON Taiwan 2025, Asia’s largest event of its kind, the entire world microelectronics ecosystem came together – from chip manufacturers to universities and national institutions, as well as a representative of SARIO.

The business trip began with a meeting at the prestigious ITRI Research Institute in Hsinchu, where discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation between Slovakia and Taiwan in the semiconductor sector.

Over the following three days, Martina Šušová from SARIO’s Investment Projects Department met with more than 50 companies from Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China, and other countries. The discussions spanned the entire semiconductor supply chain. To international partners, she presented Slovakia’s investment opportunities, SARIO’s services, and the competitive advantages of our country.

Slovakia has strong potential in the semiconductor sector – foreign companies are already operating here, and the Central European region is becoming increasingly attractive thanks to major announced investments. Several Asian firms indicated expansion plans during the meetings and expressed interest in establishing new operations in Europe in the medium term, with Slovakia being one of the destinations under consideration.
