Investment Seminar in Seoul

Investment Seminar in Seoul

On 12 February 2026, an investment seminar was held at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Korea under the auspices of the head of SARIO’s Investment and Trade Office in South Korea, Michal Dutko. The event was organized as an accompanying activity to SEMICON 2026, the largest semiconductor trade fair in South Korea, which took place in Seoul on February 11-13, 2026.

The main objective of the seminar was to present Slovakia as an attractive investment destination for Korean companies operating in the semiconductor, microelectronics, and related technology sectors, while also strengthening links between the Slovak and Korean innovation ecosystems.

More than 20 representatives of Korean companies and institutions active in the semiconductor industry attended the seminar.

In addition to SARIO, the Slovak side was represented by officials from the Embassy in Seoul and the SK Chips Competence Centre, which was officially opened at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava in November 2025 as the central hub of Slovakia’s semiconductor ecosystem. The successful organization of the event was also significantly supported by the Korean law firm Sigong Law, which provided expert assistance in preparing the seminar and helped participants better navigate the Slovak legal and regulatory environment.

The event confirmed the growing interest of Korean technology companies in diversifying their manufacturing and R&D capacities in Europe.

Slovakia aims to become an active part of the European semiconductor value chain, and South Korea is a key partner in this regard. Following the seminar, SARIO will continue individual negotiations with the identified companies, provide investment advisory services, and work on organizing follow-up B2B meetings and sector-focused missions.
