Podnikateľská misia do Bavorska

A business mission of Slovak companies to Bavaria took place in Munich on 6-7 May 2026, organized by the SARIO agency in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Munich and the Slovak-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event was held on the occasion of the working visit of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, to Bavaria and focused on the automotive industry and the circular economy. 

The business mission was attended by 22 Slovak and 20 German companies. The companies attended dozens of B2B meetings, which created space for establishing new business contacts and opened up the potential for further Slovak-German cooperation in the field of industry, innovation and modern technologies.

The program included a thematic visit to the IFAT international trade fair, a business forum with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic and a visit to the BMW Group in Munich. The delegation discussed current challenges in the automotive industry, technological trends and opportunities for further development of industrial cooperation between Slovakia and Bavaria.
 

An important part of the program was the business forum, at which the Deputy Director General of the SARIO Agency, Robert Šimončič, spoke. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of economic cooperation between Slovakia and Bavaria, as well as the potential of Slovak companies in the field of industrial innovations, supply chains and technological solutions for the automotive sector.

The Slovak investment and business environment was presented by Martina Šušová, a posted expert of the SARIO agency in Germany. She also introduced participants to the current state of Slovak-German bilateral relations and the opportunities for further development of cooperation.

The professional program also included a panel discussion on the topic "The Future of the European Automotive Industry - Potential for Further Cooperation between Slovakia and Bavaria", in which representatives of Bayern Innovativ and BMW Group spoke. The discussion brought a view of current trends in the automotive industry, innovations in mobility and the possibilities of more intensive cooperation between Slovak and Bavarian partners.
 

During the visit, the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, highlighted the importance of mutual economic relations between Slovakia and Bavaria. He recalled that this was the first visit of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic to Bavaria in 27 years and emphasized that Bavaria is the only region with which Slovakia has established an intergovernmental commission. Its 24th session was successfully held in March 2026 in Munich.

The SARIO agency also ensured the organization of B2B meetings between Slovak and German companies and accompanied the business delegation during the accompanying program at the IFAT international trade fair and during the visit of the BMW Group in Munich.

The business mission confirmed the strong economic ties between Slovakia and Bavaria and at the same time showed the high potential for further cooperation between Slovak and German companies in the field of industry, innovation and technological development.
