GlobalTags News Foreign trade Webinar Latin America and the Caribbean The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) organized an online webinar on September 28, 2026, focusing on prospects for deepening economic relations and exporting Slovak companies to Latin American countries. In this context, the main topics of the webinar were the free trade agreement between the European Union and the Latin American economic block MERCOSUR, along with the resulting advantages for international trade.The event built upon the growing demand of Slovak companies to diversify their export markets beyond the European region. Experts from practice and government representatives outlined what this trade agreement will bring in terms of tariff elimination, reduction of administrative barriers, and easier access to the markets of the South American continent.The webinar program featured presentations by Daniel Ondruš, Director of the Foreign Trade Department at SARIO, alongside Katarína Tomková, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Brazil, and Milan Zachar, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Buenos Aires. An analysis of the agreement itself, general advantages, and benefits within relevant sectors of the Slovak economy was presented by Peter Jančovič, an analyst at the Department of Political and Data Analysis of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.
