GlobalTags News Investments Employment On March 5, 2026, the Hungarian Embassy in Bratislava organized a professional conference focused on employment entitled Conference on Competitive Employment. In addition to SARIO, the program also featured a presentation of a study by WHC HR, as well as speeches by representatives of the Ministry of National Economy of Hungary, the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, the Border and Foreign Police Office of the Police Force Presidium, and the Association of Employers' Unions and Associations of the Slovak Republic. The program also included a panel discussion with representatives from Slovnaft, DHL Express Slovakia, Furbify, and Trexima Bratislava. As part of the conference program, Simona Jurkovičová, Director of the Investment Projects Department, gave a presentation focused on the employment of third-country nationals in Slovakia. Her presentation introduced the Regulation of the Government of the Slovak Republic No. 269/2022 Coll. on the interest of the Slovak Republic in granting national visas to relocated third-country nationals, while outlining the main aspects of the regulation, which significantly facilitates the transfer of highly qualified employees from branches in third countries, as well as an overview of the conditions under which employers can use this tool. Statistics related to the use of the regulation were also presented. The regulation was created thanks to the constructive approach of several ministries affected by the issue, specifically the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic (Border and Alien Police Office). The original impetus for its creation was a rapid response to repeated requests from international (especially IT) companies to relocate highly qualified employees from their branches in third countries affected by the war in Ukraine (Ukraine, Russia, Belarus). However, during the preparation of the regulation, all third countries were included in its scope.SARIO provides administrative support for the regulation and communicates with employers on the one hand and institutional partners on the other. At the end of February 2026, SARIO had registered 745 relocated persons (more than 450 of whom are employees) for almost 80 companies operating in Slovakia, with an average monthly salary of 3,730 EUR for these employees. The regulation continues to enjoy considerable popularity and significantly simplifies the arrival of third-country nationals in Slovakia. For more information, please contact the Investment Projects Department at invest [at] sario.sk (invest[at]sario[dot]sk).
