GlobalTags News Investments Cooperation events China On 10 March 2026, the China (Ningbo) – Slovakia Investment and Trade Cooperation Exchange Event took place in the Chinese city of Ningbo, aimed at presenting Slovakia’s investment potential and promoting economic cooperation between Slovakia and the city of Ningbo.The event was organized by SARIO’s Special Representative in China in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai. The event partner was the Ningbo Center for CEEC Expo and Cooperation Promotion (NBCEE). Representatives of the Ningbo municipal government and the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce attended the event together with 68 representatives of key industrial parks and technology companies.A key part of the program, which was opened by Milan Lajčiak, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the People’s Republic of China, was the presentation by Lukáš Merga, SARIO’s Special Representative in China, who introduced Slovakia as a strategic gateway for Chinese companies entering the European region. In his presentation, he highlighted Slovakia’s stable and business-friendly environment, its strategic location in the center of Europe, a well-developed industrial base, and a strong supplier ecosystem that creates favorable conditions for new technology investments.The presentation also focused on opportunities for cooperation in promising technology sectors, including industrial and humanoid robotics, energy, electromobility, the low-altitude economy, medical devices, new materials, and technological research and development. Participants were also introduced to the services provided by SARIO in supporting and facilitating investment projects in Slovakia.On the Chinese side, the event was opened by Li Chengjie, Director of the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce. Xu Xiaochang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ningbo Municipal People’s Government, also delivered opening remarks, highlighting Ningbo’s role as one of the key centers for cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, with particular emphasis on Slovakia.The event also included individual meetings, during which participants discussed opportunities for investment, technological, and research and development cooperation in Slovakia. The discussions contributed to raising awareness of Slovakia’s investment and trade advantages and opened new opportunities for developing cooperation between Slovakia and this important industrial center of eastern China.
