Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency took part at the Slovenian – Slovak Business Forum and business mission in port city of Koper during the official visit of the President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gasparovic and the Minister of the Economy of the SR Lubomir Jahnatek in Slovenia. The investment and economic environment of the Slovak Republic and the services of SARIO agency were presented at the business forum by the SARIO Region Manager Juraj Haško. There were 122 Slovak business subjects from agriculture, automotive, textile, metallurgy; electronics, paper, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, machinery, wood processing and clothing industries as well as public administration that are interested in investment and trade cooperation with Slovenia were presented to the Slovenian entrepreneurs. Currently, there is over 900 companies that export to Slovenia and about 700 Slovak companies import from Slovenia. The participation of the Slovenian companies at the na International Machinery Cooperation Day – Engineering 2010 (May 27th 2010) and at the 4th Slovak Matchmaking Fair (November 2010) was promised during the negotiations of the SARIO agency with the representatives of the partner agency JAPTI and the Slovenian Commerce and Industry Chamber. Both events will take place on the premises of the exhibition fairgrounds Agrokomplex, Nitra. As a part of the business mission to the port of Koper, the possibilities of how to use affordable services of the port for export of their products to the countries of the Mediterranean and Near and Far East were presented to the Slovak entrepreneurs. The port of Koper plans to call for an international tender for the construction finalization of the third transloading terminal. The Slovak companies will be also able to participate in this project.
