Slovak Business Delegation Accompanying the President in Montenegro

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Podgorica, organized a business mission to Montenegro on May 29–30, 2025. The business delegation accompanied the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, during his official visit.

This business mission was the largest event of its kind that SARIO agency has conducted towards Montenegro in the past two years. The Slovak business delegation consisted of 30 companies representing a wide range of economic sectors, including energy, renewable energy sources, water management, agriculture, food processing, information and communication technologies, defense, engineering, construction, and consulting services.

The main highlight of the program was the Montenegro-Slovakia Business Forum, held in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Podgorica. During the business forum, dozens of B2B meetings were held with 14 Montenegrin companies, marking an important step towards strengthening economic cooperation between Slovakia and Montenegro.

The program also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Slovak company R.E.M.D. s.r.o. and the Montenegrin company CMM Investment Consulting Group.

The event was officially opened by the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, and the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, who both emphasized the excellent bilateral relations and the potential for further deepening ties in their speeches.

Robert Šimončič, Director General of SARIO, and Pavle Radovanović, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, praised the existing cooperation and close understanding between the two countries in their remarks. They also highlighted new opportunities for the development of mutual exchanges in investment and trade. Robert Šimončič described the forum as an important platform for generating new ideas, establishing contacts, and hopefully launching concrete projects and partnerships between Slovakia and Montenegro.

The business and investment environments of Montenegro and Slovakia were presented by Aleksandra Božović from the Montenegrin Investment Agency, Silvia Radovanović from SARIO agency, and Rastislav Podhorec, Director General of EXIMBANKA SR.
