Slovak Companies Accompany President on Official Visit to Croatia

On July 1, 2025, the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Zagreb, organized a business mission to Croatia. The delegation accompanied the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, during his official visit.

The Slovak business delegation was composed of 21 entities representing a broad range of industries, including energy, renewable resources, agriculture, food production, defense, paper and printing, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, consulting, and academia.

The highlight of the program was the Croatia–Slovakia Business Forum, held at the University of Zagreb in collaboration with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Zagreb and the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP). During the forum, dozens of B2B meetings were held with 17 Croatian companies.

The event was officially opened by President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini and President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović. In their speeches, both leaders emphasized the importance of reinforcing economic cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.

The program also included a formal reception hosted by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Zagreb, attended by members of the Slovak community in Croatia and honorary consuls. Among the distinguished guests were President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Saková, and Minister of the Interior Matúš Šutaj Eštok. The reception provided an opportunity for Slovak companies to connect with Slovaks living and working in Croatia — creating opportunities to exchange know-how and local expertise that can support their entry into the Croatian market.

The evening prior to the business forum, the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Zagreb hosted an informal networking event. This offered Slovak companies a chance to get to know one another and prepare for the next day's discussions.
