GlobalTags News Business mission Foreign trade India On April 10, 2025, the Slovak-Indian Business Forum took place at the Congress Hall of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic (MFEA SR), on the occasion of the historic visit of the President of India, H.E. Droupadi Murmu, to Slovakia.The event was the result of cooperation between the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) and several domestic institutions – the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic, and the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. On the Indian side, the organization of the forum was coordinated by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), in cooperation with other Indian partners ASSOCHAM and CII.The forum brought together more than 60 Slovak business entities and 25 Indian companies operating in sectors such as information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, defence, mechanical engineering, industry, and others. Approximately 170 B2B meetings between Slovak and Indian partners were held during the forum.The forum was officially opened with addresses by the Presidents of both countries, the Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the head of the Indian business delegation, Mr. Girish Luthra, Chairman of Luthra Group.A key part of the program was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Slovak company ROLUS s.r.o. and Indian partners Texmaco Defence Systems Pvt. Ltd. and JCBL Ltd., symbolizing a strong interest in long-term cooperation between the business communities of both countries. The program continued with presentations of business and investment opportunities in Slovakia by SARIO, and in India by representatives of the companies Perfios and CloudFirst Technology.SARIO agency arranged several site visits for the Indian business delegation to Slovak companies operating in sectors of defence, renewable energy, and information and communication technology sectors.The forum also built upon SARIO’s previous efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with India, including business missions to India organized in February and March 2025. The partnership with India holds growing potential, and Slovakia sees it as a strategic opportunity for the development of international cooperation and the promotion of Slovak exporters.
