GlobalTags News Investments Foreign trade Business forum United Arab Emirates The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, organized the Slovak Republic–United Arab Emirates Business Forum on 2 June 2026 in Bratislava.The event was held on the occasion of the 2nd Session of the Joint Economic Committee between the Slovak Republic and the United Arab Emirates. The forum confirmed the growing interest of Slovak companies in expanding trade and investment relations with countries of the Gulf region. The event attracted exceptionally strong interest from the Slovak business community, bringing together approximately 70 Slovak companies representing a wide range of economic sectors.The opening remarks were delivered by representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade. The professional programme featured presentations highlighting business and investment opportunities in both countries. On behalf of SARIO, Peter Mikula from the Investment Projects Department presented Slovakia as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment. The agenda also included a presentation of investment opportunities in the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as a presentation promoting Slovakia as a tourism destination.The event was moderated by Daniel Ondruš, Director of SARIO’s Foreign Trade Department. SARIO was responsible for the comprehensive organization and implementation of the forum, including participant registration, programme coordination, the organization of individual business meetings, and active matchmaking between Slovak companies and partners from the United Arab Emirates.The UAE delegation consisted of representatives from 11 institutions, including government organizations, investment promotion agencies, and major investment funds. Participants gained valuable insights into current business and investment opportunities in both countries, as well as potential areas for future cooperation across a range of strategic sectors.A key component of the programme was the series of bilateral business meetings. More than 150 B2B and B2G meetings were held throughout the forum, providing participants with opportunities to identify concrete business prospects, establish new partnerships, and discuss potential investment projects. The strong demand for individual meetings from Slovak companies underscored the growing importance of the United Arab Emirates as a promising market for Slovak exports, technological cooperation, and investment activities.The participation of leading UAE investment funds also created opportunities for Slovak companies and project promoters to present investment-ready projects and explore possibilities for attracting foreign capital and strategic partners.On 3 June 2026, the business forum was followed by a programme organized by SARIO for the UAE delegation, including a visit to the CTPark Voderady industrial park. The objective of the visit was to showcase Slovakia’s industrial infrastructure, investment environment, and opportunities for the implementation of future investment projects.The event reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ position as an important and перспективе partner for trade and investment cooperation with the Slovak Republic. The high level of participation and strong interest in bilateral meetings demonstrated the growing potential for further strengthening economic ties between the two countries and laid the groundwork for new business and investment partnerships.
