Slovak technology companies at BEYOND 2026 in Athens

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Athens, organised a joint national stand of the Slovak Republic at the international technology fair BEYOND 2026, held on 17–19 June 2026 in Athens. The participation of Slovak companies was supported through the Economic Diplomacy Project Scheme (PED).

Ten Slovak companies were presented at the national stand, operating in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, biometric solutions, digitalisation and automation of financial processes, data analytics, e-commerce, monitoring and information systems, smart energy metering, scientific and numerical modelling, smart cities, as well as advanced holographic and 3D solutions. The national stand provided Slovak companies with a platform to present their products, services and technological solutions to an international audience. The delegation also included companies such as ESET Greece and MicroStep-MIS, which have an established presence in the Greek market and many years of experience operating in the country.

The national stand was officially opened by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Rastislav Chovanec, and the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance of the Hellenic Republic, Christos Dermetzopoulos.

During the fair, the stand was visited by representatives of the Greek public administration, municipalities, the business sector and professional institutions. Among them were the Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence of Greece, Dimitris Papastergiou, representatives of companies such as Space Hellas, Fraport Greece and Eurobank, the Chairman of the Board of Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company (EYDAP), as well as representatives of the Hellenic Cosmos Museum and others. Throughout the event, Slovak companies had the opportunity to meet and engage with representatives of both the public and private sectors and present their solutions.

The programme also included the Greece–Slovakia Business Forum, held on 17 June at the premises of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, directly at the BEYOND exhibition. The event was organised by SARIO and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Athens, in cooperation with Greek partners Enterprise Greece and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The aim of the forum was to present the business environments of both countries, showcase Slovak companies participating in the fair, and create space for developing business relations and new partnerships.

After the opening remarks by representatives of the partner organisations, speeches were delivered by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Haris Theoharis, and State Secretary Rastislav Chovanec. Slovak companies subsequently presented their products, services and technological solutions and took part in networking sessions with representatives of Greek and Cypriot companies.

Slovak companies also visited the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” on 16 June, where they were welcomed by the President of the Centre, Vasilis Karkaletsis, who presented its research institutes, the Lefkippos technology park hosting more than 50 innovative companies, and several startup acceleration programmes.

The programme also included a visit to the centre’s hydrogen refuelling station, a presentation of the upcoming AI Factory coordinated by Demokritos, as well as an introduction to key actors of the Greek innovation ecosystem. Slovak companies also had the opportunity to present their solutions and take part in networking and B2B meetings with representatives of Greek research organisations, startups and technology companies.

Participation in BEYOND 2026 gave Slovak companies valuable opportunities to present their products and services to an international audience and to connect with potential partners from Greece and other countries. The programme for Slovak companies was further enriched by networking events, the Greece–Slovakia Business Forum, and a visit to the Demokritos research centre, all of which created additional space for presenting innovative solutions, strengthening business ties and exploring new cooperation opportunities.
