Slovakia Represented at China’s Leading Supply Chain Expo and Belt and Road Cooperation Forum

Special Representative in China Lukáš Merga participated from 22 to 26 June 2026 in the 4th edition of the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE 2026) in Beijing and in the Belt & Road – Hangzhou Enterprises Exchange Event in Hangzhou. Both events confirmed the growing interest of Chinese companies in international expansion and cooperation with European partners, while also providing an opportunity to present Slovakia as an attractive investment and technology partner in Europe.

CISCE is among the world’s most significant platforms focused on industrial and supply chains. This year’s edition attracted more than 650 exhibitors from 85 countries and regions, with foreign exhibitors accounting for over 35% of participants. Leading global technology and industrial companies dominated the exhibition, with approximately 65% of exhibitors represented by Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders. The main themes of the event included digitalization, artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, clean energy, and strengthening the resilience of global supply chains. A key feature of CISCE 2026 was its strong focus on AI and digital technologies, with 161 new products, technologies, and innovative solutions unveiled during the exhibition. The program also included expert conferences, thematic forums, and individual B2B meetings, which resulted in new contacts with Chinese companies interested in expanding into European markets.

Slovakia was represented through a joint national pavilion with the participation of SARIO, the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Beijing, and three Slovak companies. Special Representative in China Lukáš Merga presented Slovakia on a talks with participants as an attractive investment destination and a strategic gateway to the European Union market, particularly in the sectors of automotive, clean energy, smart mobility, and advanced manufacturing

Another important event was the Belt & Road – Hangzhou Enterprises Exchange Event, organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hangzhou Committee, which created opportunities for establishing new contacts and deepening cooperation with partners in the region. The event brought together representatives of local governments, trade and investment agencies, manufacturing and technology companies, as well as foreign diplomatic missions. As part of the program, Representative in China also visited innovative companies and technology parks in the Zhejiang region focused on artificial intelligence, digital healthcare, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Participation in the events in Beijing and Hangzhou strengthened awareness of Slovakia as a promising investment and technology partner in Europe and contributed to the expansion of a network of contacts with prospective Chinese investors interested in expanding into the European market.
