8th Indonesian - Slovak business forum in Indonesia

November 2, 2013, during the 3rd IGC meeting in Indonesia between the Republic of Indonesia and Slovakia - SARIO in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Jakarta organized a meeting of Slovak Entrepreneurs with entrepreneurs in Indonesia. This meeting took place with the presence of the Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Tomáš Malatinský.

 

Mr. Malatinský confirmed that the Forum has successfully followed up the presidential visit to Indonesia in 2011 and his visit in 2012 when they talked mainly about the possibilities of cooperation in the field of export of capital for infrastructure development in Indonesia.

 

The event, involving 12 Indonesian and 6 Slovak companies from different sectorial areas (energy, electronic industry Metronome), was a unique opportunity to establish new business contacts and mutual cooperation during the B2B negotiations. Their results are summarized in the report of the 3rd IGC meeting.

 

During this event was successfully completed research and development of tropical cultivation of wheat, which is the result of collaboration between the Indonesian Andalas University and the University of Agriculture in Nitra, Slovakia and the results were directed to co-operate on a commercial basis.

 

There are preparations of projects to be continued such as cement plant construction project in West Papua and East Kalimantan and tire factories in the province of West Java.

 

NRA SR in cooperation with scientific and professional societies with their Indonesian counterparts negotiated a potential cooperation in the preparation and execution of construction 1st nuclear power plant in Indonesia and the disposal of the old nuclear reactors used for scientific purposes.

 

Representatives of the Slovak companies from the energy sector, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, such as Altia, Metron, WITHOUT Group, GTC Trencin were engaged in business contacts from the Indonesia side.

 

SARIO representative, who was responsible for organizing the Business Forum, Mr. Vladimir Pristaš, introduced business and investment environment of both parties. He also informed the entrepreneurs about the current state of work on the projects stated below which have been finalized to the date of the 3rd IGC:

  • Industrial 60MW power station, East Kalimantan
  • Integrated cement plant in Papua and West 40 MW power plant
  • Cement 1.73 million. Tons of Banten
  • Power Plant 2x100 MW East Kalimantan and 160 km high-voltage lines of 150 KV
  • Power Plant 2x25 MW Karimun

 

Investment cost structures represents USD 850 million.

 

Representatives of investors and contractors of the above projects signed the MOC. Furthermore, these projects will have follow-up in Slovakia on the 19th and 20th of December, 2013.

 

At the end of the Forum, Indonesian Ambassador to Slovakia, Djumontoro Purba, expressed a confidence that the agreement of cooperation between Indonesia and Slovakia, following the 3rd IGC allow even closer and mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the countries.
