Location Bratislava On the 28th and 29th of May, 2013 the Slovak Investment and Trade Development agency (SARIO) had participated at the Korea Overseas Investment Fair (KOIF 2013) in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. The fair was organized by the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). The KOIF 2013 hosted about forty countries and regions, which promoted their economic advantages to Korean companies intending to potentially invest overseas. During the two days event, SARIO’s booth was visited by representatives of more than sixty companies, each receiving a brief overview of the economic environment of Slovakia. Moreover, additional eight business meetings with an investment project potential for the Slovak Republic as the destination country took place. The investment fair was also offering opportunities for holding individual seminars, where SARIO had its own session on the Slovak business and investment environment. The seminar was opened by H.E. Dušan Bella,the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Korea. Presentations on the general business environment and Slovakia as a ‘Korea friendly’ country delivered by Roman Sabo, Head of Investment Project Department and Milan Gavlák, Head of Strategic Projects followed. The last testimonial success story was presented by Leonor Lee, representative of Samsung Electronics. Ms. Lee introduced Samsung Electronics Slovakia as a successful Korean company with a long tradition and continuous development and business activities in Slovakia. KOIF 2013 provided a platform for signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the agency SARIO and KOTRA. The memorandum regulates the framework of cooperation with emphasis on mutual activities supporting either the inflow of investment projects into the countries or intensification of trade relations (also in other economic sectors besides the automotive and electro-technical currently the most prosperous fields of cooperation).
