American financial community is interested in Slovakia

Official meeting of the representatives of New York financial community and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic took place on November 19th 2009. The organizer of the meeting was Mrs. Katarina Storfer representing Euromoney Institutional Investor and SARIO agency (SARIO Cooperation Partner pre USA https://www.sario.sk/?galeria-partnerov). The meeting took place under the auspieces of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the SR, Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in New York and SARIO agency. The focus of the meeting was on negotiation of investment possibilities and projects in Slovakia and financial companies that took part were Artio Global (former Julius Bear), Ernst&Young, Goldman Sachs, Proskauer Rose, Barclays Capital, Angelo Gordon private equity fund, Standard Chartared Bank, Nova Capital Partners, Fieldstone Investors and GE Capital. American investors were interested mainly in banking system; energetics and the prospects of the Slovak economy as a whole. They highly valued all positive economic indicators as well as political stability of Slovakia. Their interest in Slovakia is a direct consequence of the economic crisis, since all the big companies are now trying to diversify their investment portfolio.
