Location MFEA SR On November 6, 2013 Business forum and bilateral meetings of Slovak and Bulgarian companies took place at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. This major event was part of the official state visit of Rosen Plevneliev, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria. The main organizer of the Business Forum and B2B negotiations was the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. The event was prepared and organized by the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) in cooperation with the National Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Economy, Slovak Chamber of Commerce, Slovak agricultural and Food Chamber, Chamber of Food Industry of Slovakia and the Slovak Construction Entrepreneurs Association. Business Forum was jointly opened by Ivan Gašparovič, the President of the SR and Rosen Plevneliev, the President of Bulgaria. In their opening speaches they stressed the importance of developing and enhancing economic cooperation especially on the level of the business environment. After the opening speeches of the two presidents, the presentations followed to introduce the investment and business conditions in Slovakia and Bulgaria. For the Slovak side the presentation was delivered by Robert Simoncic, SARIO CEO and Christo Iliev Etropolski of Bulgarian Investment Agency. Bilateral negotiations between the representatives of Slovak and Bulgarian businesses were focused on the food, mechanical, electronic, automotive, construction industry and ITC sectors. After the presentations bilateral negotiations between the representatives of Slovak and Bulgarian firms took place. The B2B negotiations were attended by 24 Slovak and 20 Bulgarian companies. B2B meetings were focused on the development of foreign trade, production and economic co-operations, subcontracting, joint-ventures and expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries. Business Forum and B2B meetings of Slovak and Bulgarian companies have contributed not only to establishing the mutual economic cooperation, but also improve the quality of higher forms of economic cooperation between the two countries.
