Business mission to India

On November 19 – 22, 2019, the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) organized a business mission to India.

The business mission was part of the Slovak delegation led by Vojtech Ferencz, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the SR and accompanied by Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the SR. Apart from 15 business entities, the delegation also included representatives from the ZAP SR, Klub 500, SIEA and EUBA.

Members of the business mission attended the 5th edition of the India-Europe 29 Business Forum (IE29BF), organized by the Ministry of External Affairs India (MEA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Government of India. Apart from the largest 40-member Slovak delegation, the event was attended by the representatives from other European countries (Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary). Totally there were 200 foreign delegates from 29 European countries and over 400 representatives of Indian companies. Companies came from smart cities sector, IT technologies, renewable resources, mechanical engineering, glass production and pharmaceutical industry. ​The Slovak entrepreneurs had opportunity to participate in pre-scheduled B2B negotiations as well as simultaneously running panel discussions on various topics.

During the IE29BF, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Slovak company BMM plus and its Indian partner, Ground Strategy Consulting. The Memorandum aims to boost trade cooperation between India and Slovakia in areas such as intelligent solutions, smart cities projects, innovative fire safety solutions and others.
