Cantonese Fair opens Slovaks doors to Chinese market

On January 22, 2013, the conference dedicated to the promotion of the largest export-import event in China - Canton Fair, took place in Bratislava. The conference was prepared by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in collaboration with the Chinese Foreign Trade Centre and the Economic Counsellor Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Slovakia.

 

Wang Jinsong, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the PRC in SR and Wang Yanhua, Deputy Director of the International Trade Centre presented the added value for potential Slovak exhibitors, and also expressed satisfaction with the growth of turnover of the Slovak Republic and China (y/o/y it grew by 6.6% and amounts to 5.7 billion USD). The conference was attended by more than 100 representatives of Slovak and foreign companies.

 

Cantonese Fair is held in Guangzhou (Canton) twice a year. Its 113th year will be held from 04/15/2013 to 05/05/2013. It is the largest Chinese trade fair, which annually attracts more than 420,000 buyers from 215 countries and regions. The last year participated 24, 840 exhibitors on the presentation area of ??1,160,000 m2.

 

The event is an important platform for international trade and new contracts. "I'll be glad when Slovak companies use business opportunities that this fair offers and will present the potential of their companies as well as the brand "Slovakia" in the best possible light. Despite of the increase in exports to China by 14.4% I can still see room for further growth, particularly in the area of ??sophisticated technologies and products," Robert Šimončič, SARIO CEO said in his speech.

 

Martin Hrivik, the Secretary General of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry in his speech highlighted the importance of cooperation with China, which accounts for about 13% of the Slovak exports outside of the EU.
