Investment Seminar in Cardiff, Wales

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in cooperation with the Welsh Government organized an investment seminar Doing Business in the Heart of Europe, Finding New Opportunities in Slovakia in the capital of Wales, Cardiff on February 6, 2020.
The aim of the seminar was to present Slovakia as an attractive destination for British investments, as well as to highlight the existing successful cooperation of British and Slovak companies.
 
The seminar was opened with a speech of H. E. Ľubomír Rehák, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, H. E. Andrew Garth, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Slovakia and Nigel Payne, Honorary Consul of Slovakia. Ivana Winbladh, Director of Department for International Trade of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Embassy spoke on behalf of the British Embassy in Slovakia and presented the export opportunities for British companies to the Slovak market.

SARIO was represented by Barbora Švecová, Consultant from the Investment Projects Department and Andrea Mihaličková, Senior Consultant from the Investment Projects Department, who gave a presentation about the Slovak business environment.

The success of the Slovak innovative company, which is developing a ground-breaking technology for milling and drilling on the British market was introduced by company GA Drilling. The experience of a British company with the Slovak market explained the representative of Taylor Francis Insurance Brokers. An example of many years of successful cooperation has been presented to us by Biral, a UK-based sensor manufacturer and MicroStep-Mis, a Slovak environmental monitoring company.
 
The investment-business seminar in Cardiff was attended by nearly 50 participants, which included companies from various sectors such as automotive, aerospace, electrical engineering, and others. The event received positive feedback from companies, but also from the Embassies and the Welsh Government. We believe that this will be reflected in the future business mission.
