Investment seminars on Slovak business environment

On October 13th 2010 the Investment seminar on Slovak business environment organized by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) organized together with the Slovak Cultural and Economic Office in Taipei (SEKÚ). All SARIO seminars were also supported by the Taiwanese companies TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) and SIECA (Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association).

 

The aim of this seminar was to intensify the cooperation of Taiwan with Slovakia and present the businessmen in Taiwan the investment climate of Slovakia and its opportunities. This seminar was one from three investment seminars organized in Taiwan by SARIO agency with the aim to promote Slovakia as the investment destination and attract future potential investment from Taiwan also in the connection with the investment of AUO company.

 

Over 30 businessmen who attended Taipei seminar were mainly interested in economic conditions of Slovakia and available support from the government, local municipalities and regional administration. They were also interested in the information on availability and price of energies in Slovakia, labor cost, data on import duty etc.

 

Several speakers from various fields presented their speeches. The participants were welcomed by Mr. Dacho, Head of SEDKU. Mrs. Andrea Gulova, Assigned Chief Executive Officer of SARIO presented Slovak investment climate and Mrs. Miroslava Hospodarova, SARIO Project Manager talked about the availability of State Aid for investors. Legal environment of Slovakia was presented by Mr. Marek from law firm Peterka&Partners. Mr. Koljadenko and Mr. Ishikawa from Takenaka company described their experience with construction of factories for Asian companies in Slovakia. Mr. Ben Lee from firm Accace presented to the participants of the seminar the tax aspects of doing business in Slovakia. The Taiwanese companies present in Slovakia - AUO (Mr. Wu) and ESON (Mr. Shaw) shared with the participants their experience with doing business in Slovakia and clarified the reasons why Slovakia became the chosen country for their investments and what kind of support investors may get from SARIO agency.

 

After the seminar small party took place and the participants had the opportunity to try Slovak cosine and consult directly with the SARIO representatives the investment opportunities in Slovakia.
On Friday October 15the 2010 second Investment seminar in Kaohsiung on the south of Taiwan took place. Kaohsiung is the second biggest city in Taiwan which seats approximately 2,500 companies. This high concentration of companies is influenced by the fact that Kaohsiung is port city. About 20 businessmen participated at this seminar and they were mainly interested in opportunities of investing in Slovakia. ESON and Delta companies presented their experiences with the investment process in Slovakia.
On Monday October 18th 2010 the last seminar from the series will take place in the central part of the island, in the third largest city and business center – in Taichung, Taiwan.
