Presentation of Slovakia in Japan

Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) promotes our country this week in Japan. Slovakia is presented as an investment destination during the official visit of the President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gasparovic.

 

Investment seminar was part of the visit and was organized by the Embassy of Slovakia to Japan in cooperation with Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization). The seminar was attended by 50 entrepreneurs from Slovakia and Japan. Tomas Malatinsky, Minister of Economy of the SR, presented the need for direct foreign investments and aid allocation rules. SARIO was represented by Robert Simoncic, SARIO CEO.

 

Robert Simoncic, SARIO CEO, presented Slovakia within the project Business Friendly Slovakia, e.g. the advantages of the Slovak business environment, new plans to eliminate administrative burdens, investment opportunities in Slovakia, its labor-market potential as well as the current changes in labor legislation and constantly evolving infrastructure. The success story of Japanese investors in Slovakia was presented by Taro Ikeda from Takenaka and Toshinori Shimizu from Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishki UFJ.

 

Robert Simoncic, SARIOCEO, signed during the visit to Japan the Memorandum of Understanding between SARIO and JETRO. Its aim is the mutual exchange of economic information for businesses and industries, cooperation in investment flows and to promote mutual trade.

 

SARIO strives to become a modern investment and trade promotion agency, which will be seen by foreign investors and domestic partners as a vehicle for growth and innovation in the SR. SARIO wants to facilitate the development of Slovak economy by attracting new investment and trade promotion, which would result in new jobs and raising living standards in Slovakia.
