Slovak – Indian Business Forum

On 21 April 2017, the 9th Session of the Joined Commission for Economic and Trade Cooperation took place in Bratislava between the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of India (MIaT RI).

The delegations were headed by Dušan Jurík, Director General of the Ministry of Economy, and Anatole Praveen, MIaT RI Director General.

On this occasion SARIO organized a business forum in cooperation with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The aim of the business forum was to provide a space for intensified talks to find out possibilities for strengthening mutual trade partnership between Slovakia and India, and to bring together the business entities to explore concrete business opportunities among the participating companies.

Most importantly, in the context of trade and investment, the role of small and medium-sized businesses appears not only in traditional sectors such as energy, infrastructure, defence or the automotive industry, but also in the fields of environment, waste management, food production and agriculture.

The importance of the event was underlined by signing of A Memorandum of Understanding between SARIO and FICCI during the Business Forum. Moreover, the event was attended by more than 40 entrepreneurs from Slovakia and India. Over 64 B2B meetings took place, creating a platform for future cooperation between Slovak and Indian business partners
