The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the foreign partner SPIRIT Slovenia, organized the Slovak-Slovenian Business Forum on 22 July 2020 as a part of the official visit of the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor in Bratislava.The official Slovenian delegation was accompanied by 15 representatives of companies from the sectors of the green economy and the circular economy, digitization and information and communication technologies sector, e-mobility, artificial intelligence, and innovation companies The SARIO prepared a program for the Slovenian business delegation starting already in the morning. From our numerous proposals, the Slovenian side chose a visit to Západoslovenská energetika, a.s. - ZSE Group and company ESET.In the afternoon, the Slovak-Slovenian Business Forum took place, which was opened by the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová and the Slovenian President Borut Pahor with their opening speeches. The aim of the business forum was to create a space for cooperation for companies from both countries, especially in the field of green technologies and digitalization. In their speeches, the Heads of both States recalled that new business opportunities should be sought not only to address the consequences of the current pandemic but also because of the ongoing global climate change. In total, the business forum made it possible for the representatives of 30 companies from both countries to meet and start possible new business and cooperation projects.During the forum, the participants were presented with the investment and business potential of both countries, as well as four Slovak and four Slovenian companies and institutions presented their activities. SARIO was one of the presenting institutions, at the same time it took care of the moderation of the event.Under the auspices of the SARIO agency, more than 50 pre-planned B2B meetings of the participating companies and institutions took place. During the business forum, the participating Slovak companies obtained relevant contacts for building mutual business relations, which the SARIO agency will monitor and later evaluate. The success of the event is also confirmed by the Slovenian side's interest in further joint activities in the future.Our agency was honored by the trust of the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic, which we received during the organization of this prestigious event.
