On Monday, 14 June 2021, Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) and ACCIÓ - Agència per la Competitivitat de l'Empresa organized a free webinar called Smart Industry Solutions in Catalonia and Slovakia. The online event with 2 moderators and 10 speakers recorded a reach of over 45 registered participants coming from various backgrounds - important industrial players and Industry 4.0 solutions providers as well as governmental agencies and embassies.Marek Kopanický from SARIO, together with Michal Chabasiewicz from ACCIÓ moderated the whole event and held also the introduction and closing remarks.At first, Inma Rodriguez, Market Intelligence Manager from ACCIÓ presented Industry 4.0 Ecosystem and Industrial Capabilities of Catalonia, where she mentioned the TOP players in the region. Following, Lucia Bogdanyova from SARIO presented the R&D and innovation potential of Slovakia, mentioning some key figures and top R&D players in Slovakia as well as SARIO Innovation Services.The webinar continued with two examples of SMART factories – first, Ricardo Martín, Director of Communications & Government Relations at ABB, a company operating mainly in robotics, power, heavy electrical equipment, and automation technology areas presented the company’s customer innovations center in Barcelona. An example of a Slovak SMART Factory was presented by Axel Mallener, Managing Director of BROSE Prievidza. Axel interactively showed the paperless predictive maintenance system in Prievidza´s BROSE factory with a variety of tools and interactive dashboards.The second session of the webinar was dedicated to the Catalan and Slovak Smart Industry solution providers and as such, it aimed at presenting six reputable solution providers, that have managed to get under the spotlight of many prominent industrial players. Catalan company Sigma Industrial Precision, presented by its CEO Patricio Esteban provides a predictive maintenance platform that allows the clients to have information to increase asset availability and improve the performance of the industrial machinery.Miroslav Kolesar, SENSONEO Regional Sales Manager for Europe presented smart enterprise-grade waste management solutions for cities and businesses to cost-efficiently manage the waste lifecycle and improve the environment and well-being of people. The Smart Sensors use ultrasound technology to measure the fill levels in bins and containers several times a day and send the data to the Smart Waste Management System, a powerful cloud-based platform, via the IoT providing cities and factories with data-driven decision making, and optimization of waste collection routes, frequencies and vehicle loads.Borja Jara, Head of Business Development at MAPEX, a company specializing in Data Capture at industrial plants and in the integration of any information in any computer system in existence, presented the latest activities and services of the company.Business Development Manager from ASSECO CEIT, Dana Hrubosova provided the audience with an overview of its complex and customized CEIT Table and Digital Twin solutions. The CEIT Table serves for comprehensive and efficient planning of production and logistics processes, which allows the customers to easily design a logistics or production concept using 3D as well as 2D models and select the best variants through available analyses. This solution is implemented in various factories not only in Slovakia but also abroad.Raul Aragones, Chairman & Business Development Officer of AEInnova presented some general use cases and different applications of their solution - generation of electricity from waste heat and lastly, the 2nd session was closed by Juraj Tomlain, CEO of T-Industry. His company brings "ready-made" solutions as well as fully-customized technologies based on the special requirements of the final end-user.
