USA-Europe Shared Services Summit & Awards 2017

On June 28, 2017 the USA-Europe Shared Services Summit & Awards took place in New York City, where top US companies active in Central and Eastern Europe were distinguished for their contribution and performance within the sector. In the United States, this event was organized for the first time by BiznesPolska, an organization which successfully established a tradition of an SSC event with focus on the entire CEE region annually taking place in Warsaw, Poland.

The Summit and Awards gala in New York City brought together 125+ top-executives from 79 companies and attendees from 16 countries. Róbert Šimončič, Chief Executive Officer of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development agency (SARIO) was among the VIP Jury made up of industry experts and promotion agencies, who awarded 10 companies in the region. In the category Top US ITO/BPO in Czech/Slovakia the company Accenture was recognized, which has a very strong presence in Slovakia and significantly contributes to the company’s achievements in the region. The Accenture Delivery Center in Slovakia is part of the Global Delivery Network, which truly provides services at the intersection of business and technology employing 1,560 people in Bratislava. On top of that, it was a great achievement to see on the list of shortlisted companies in the category Top US SSC Czech/Slovakia also two additional shared service centers from Slovakia, namely Adient and Mondelez. Both companies have been established in Slovakia for over 10 years. Adient as the largest global automotive seating supplier has only one global SSC which is in Bratislava, Slovakia. While the Mondelez center in Bratislava plays a key role for the multinational corporation in the Europe Middle East and Africa region employing over 31 nationalities.

The award ceremony was preceded by a sector focus Summit, where Mr. Šimončič, CEO of SARIO was part of a panel discussion related to exploring the options when selecting a right location for setting up new shared services or business outsourcing centers in the CEE region. Slovakia, though one of the smallest markets in the CEE region, offers very competitive conditions and the presence of over 16 US companies with SSC/IT/BPO operation employing over 17,000 people proves their satisfaction and continuous interest towards the country.
