3rd Central European Investment Forum

The 3rd Central European Investment Forum hosted by London based law company Mayer Brown took place on 12th June, 2019. The forum was organized by the embassies of Poland and 11 Central and Eastern Europe countries (CEE) including Slovakia.
 
The main goal of this year’s event was aimed at introducing the innovation potential of the CEE countries. The participants included ministers, investment promotion agencies’ representatives, investors, bankers as well as representatives of innovative companies from CEE region.
 
The event was divided into three moderated panel discussions on various topics. Slovakia was represented by Miroslav Beseda from the Investment Projects Department of the SARIO agency during the last panel on strategies of foreign investors attraction. Miroslav stressed that one of the crucial factors of investors’ interest in Slovakia is its highly qualified and skilled people. On top of that, Slovakia was pictured as the country of revolutionary inventions, such as a parachute invented by Štefan Banič or one of the world’s most sophisticated prototypes of the flying car Aeromobil with the expected commercial launch by 2020. 
 
The brand new concept of country tables permitted to create a platform for networking and providing useful information to the attendees. These activities were covered by Andrea Mihaličková and Ján Malík from the Investment Projects Department. Karl Farrow from GA Drilling and Hakan Güzel from CEIT shared their experience from doing business in Slovakia.
