The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) as part of the National Project Support for the Internationalization of SMEs, implemented as part of the Operational Program Integrated Infrastructure, in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Department of SARIO and with the significant support of the Representative Office of the Slovak Republic in Nairobi, organized on 1May 14 - 22, 2022 business mission to Rwanda and Kenya.

A total of 18 Slovak companies participated in the business mission. The rich program of the mission provided them with a wide range of opportunities to present their activities and interests, to discuss the possibilities of cooperation with the private and state sectors, as well as to obtain a closer territorial and cultural overview of the visited countries, which is essential for understanding local realities and effective business.

The Slovak-Rwandan business forum organized in Kigali in cooperation with local partners Rwanda Develompent Board a European Business Chamber of Rwanda served as the main business platform for Slovak companies in Rwanda. The forum attracted more than 100 Rwandan participants, who obtained key business information about the Slovak Republic and discussed their business interests with Slovak companies in a B2B format. The event was also attended by European companies established in Rwanda, which showed a serious interest in cooperation with Slovak companies. Slovak companies also attended meetings and negotiations with local state institutions.

As part of the business mission, a Memorandum of Cooperation was solemnly signed between the SARIO agency and its Rwandan counterpart, the Rwanda Development Board. The memorandum will serve as another platform for intensifying business cooperation between Slovakia and the Republic of Rwanda.

The participants of the mission then attended a Slovak-Kenyan business forum organized in Nairobi in cooperation with the local partner Kenya Private Sector Alliance, which was attended by more than 85 representatives of the private and state sectors of Kenya. The presentation of Kenyan and Slovak business opportunities was followed by several hours of B2B negotiations and visits to important Kenyan state institutions.

In Nairobi, the delegates also took advantage of the opportunity to visit one of the 4 UN offices in the world, where the reconstruction of the office complex is planned, where space is being created for the involvement of our companies from the field of RES and electromobility in UN tenders.

The companies also visited the ongoing exhibitions Oil & Gas Africa, Solar Africa and Power & Energy Africa.

Slovak companies evaluate the results of the business mission extremely positively and in many cases are already actively solving cooperation with Rwandan/Kenyan partners.
