Business forum and bilateral negotiations of Slovak and Hungarian companies

On October 30, 2013 the 1st Meeting of the joint Slovak - Hungarian Commission for economic cooperation to further strengthen bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries, focusing on strengthening cooperation between the southern regions of Slovakia and northern regions of Hungary. The Slovak Investment and Trade Development ( SARIO ) and the Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA) prepared and organized the Business Forum and B2B meetings of Slovak and Hungarian firms with a sectorial focus on automotive, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics industries, information technology and construction. Business Forum was jointly opened by the presidents of Slovak and Hungarian part of the Joint Committee Dušan Petrik, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the SR and Péter Szíjjártó, State Secretary of the Office of the Government of Hungary.

 

In short presentation Robert Šimončič, CEO of SARIO and György Kerekes , Deputy Director of HITA introduced investment opportunities and business in Slovakia and Hungary respectively.

 

After their presentations, the bilateral negotiations between the representatives of Slovak and Hungarian firms took place. The forum was attended by 21 Slovak and 20 Hungarian firms. B2B meetings were focused on the development of production and economic co-operations, subcontracting, joint-ventures and expansion of regional economic cooperation between the two countries.

 

Business Forum and B2B negotiations of Slovak and Hungarian firms have contributed not only to establishing of mutual economic cooperation, but also improved the quality of higher forms of economic cooperation between the two countries.
